Diaspora Business Forum 2024: Launch platform for local affairs and international connections
Diaspora Business Forum 2024 it managed to bridge the gap between our diaspora members and the business environment in the Republic of Moldova, creating new connections and partnerships. Yesterday’s event in Chișinău, was a successful platform in knowledge of opportunities to start doing business here at home.
In the framework of the Panel on Launting a Business in the Republic of Moldova: steps, support, success stories, Alina Cebotariov, Deputy Director ODA, presented the opportunities the State offers through the Organisation for the Development of Entrepreneurship.
We would point out that ODA manages 10 grant programmes but also the Entrepreneurship Support Programme 373, the Prima Casă Programme, as well as the Guarantee Fund facilities, all available to citizens of the Republic of Moldova, including those in diaspora.
A successful diaspora programme is “PARE 1+ 2”, which attracts remittances to the economy. Since its launch in 2010, more than 2,145 companies have been supported financially, with a non-repayable support amounting to approximately lei 470 million. The resulting total investment exceeds lei 1.3 billion and remittances come from 35 countries, including Italy, the United Kingdom, Romania and Germany.
The diaspora Business Forum was organised by the Diaspora Relations Office in partnership with UNDP Moldova, with the financial support of the UN Multilateral Migration Programme (M-MPTF).
