Conference – “HIGHLIGHT THE FUTURE ACASE!”
On 8 February at 10.00 a.m., the Organisation for the Development of the SME Sector, in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Moldova, is organising the final conference “Together we create the future at home!”, which will take place at the Leogrant Hotel, Room Răut.
The objective of the Conference is to publicise the impact of the Programme on the mobilisation of human and financial resources of Moldovan migrant workers in the creation and development of their own businesses in the Republic of Moldova. At the same time, the best practices and success stories of the “PARE 1 + 1” beneficiaries will be promoted.
As speakers, the conference will be attended by Mr Valeriu LAZĂRDeputy Prime Minister, Minister for the Economy; the Head of the Delegation of the European Union, Dirk Schuebel; beneficiaries of the “PARE 1 + 1” programme.
Programme for the discharge of remittances in the economy ‘Appears 1 + 1’, approved by Government Decision No 972 of 18.10.2010 and extended until 2015.
This programme is intended for migrant workers or first-degree relatives who wish to invest in starting or expanding a business in the Republic of Moldova.
During the period 2010-2012, 142 grant contracts were concluded with Moldovan entrepreneurs, with the total amount of investments exceeding RON 76 million. Thus, each leu allocated from ‘PARE 1 + 1’ attracts approximately RON 3 in investments in the national economy.
For 2013, the allocation of RON 32 million is foreseen for the activities of the Programme, 50 per cent more than the amount allocated in the first two years of the Programme.
The PARE 1 + 1 programme aims to make it easier for migrants to access funding and to reintegrate them into society, while also helping to boost remittances through official channels, introducing good practices from migrants’ host states and creating a lever for introducing innovations.
The conditions for participation in the programme shall be as follows:
— Be a citizen of the Republic of Moldova;
— Be a migrant worker or first-degree relative – recipient of remittances;
— Intend to launch a business of its own in the Republic of Moldova or to develop an existing business;
— Have own capital from remittances and be able to confirm, by submitting supporting documents, the origin of the financial means (employment contract; certificate of confirmation of salary/income; extract from bank accounts; copies of bank transfer orders, customs declarations).
At the same time, in addition to the financial aid provided by the State of RON 200 000, ODIMM provides advice and training in the area of entrepreneurship.
In order to ensure the sustainability of the business financed by the Programme, enterprises shall be guided over a period of 24 months, supported in carrying out an efficient and cost-effective activity.
