Business incubators, backed by the state during the pandemic
Those 11 Business Incubators in Moldova received during the 2020 pandemic, Lei 2.2 mln on the state side, in order to strengthen the capacities of incubed companies and to recover the economic situation in the country’s regions. Thus, for the 161 companiesresident in Moldova’s business incubators (AI) in the respective period, rent subsidies were allocated. They have also been created and equipped with technical, computing and software equipment — 9 accelerators by Business, a FabLab (in IA Soroca) and a SoftLab (Employees). Eight business incubators have developed or updated web pages in order to promote the work of the institution and their residents. At the same time, last year, it was organised 65 information sessions, thematic webinars, mentoring hours, where approximately 1300 by entrepreneurs in the regions. All these actions were carried out through Support instrument for the development of the Business Incubators Networkimplemented by ODIMM with the support of the Ministry of Economy.

During the event, the results of the work of the eleven AI during the first half of this year were also presented. Thus, during the first six months, the managers of business incubators offered 2060 to consults residents of incubators and entrepreneurs in the region.
To be noted that, in those eleven IA, members of RIAM, occupancy rate of premises is 93 %. Currently it works here 258 by resident companies, of which 158 they are start-ups, 148 managed by young people, others 119 companies are run by women. In total, have been created 877 jobs, of which 389 for women and 327 for young people. Resident companies’ total turnover is approximately Lei 160 million.
In 2013, the network of business incubators in Moldova was set up with the support of the European Union by DSOs. The members of the RIAM are business incubators: Ștefan-Vode, Dubăsari, Leova, Ceadârlunga, Rezina, Nisporeni, S bloodi, Soroca, Cimișlia, Cahul and Călărași.
