Crisis situations, business failures and second chances for entrepreneurs in difficulty were the topic of discussions at the Small Business Dejun which took place today in the framework of the Danube Chance Project 2.0 “Accepting failure to facilitate entrepreneurs’ access to second chance in the Danube Region”. The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure, the central public administration, Business Incubators and entrepreneurs who discussed how to improve tools to support entrepreneurs in difficulty and those who want to restart their business. The aim is to continue the dialogue on good practices and support measures needed to facilitate entrepreneurs’ access to second chance.

Present at the event, Director General ODIMM, Iulia Costin says entrepreneurs need support to overcome potential crisis situations. “ODIMM, through the DanubeChance2.0 project “Accepting failure to make it easier for entrepreneurs to have a second chance in the Danube Region”, will provide all necessary support to entrepreneurs who have experienced a business failure, but also to those who are starting to do so by organising meetings, consultations and information sessions to encourage them not to stop doing business. We will also organise similar events with Business Incubators to showcase the success stories of entrepreneurs who did not give up when they felt that opportunities no longer exist. Opportunities always exist, we only need to identify them”.

Since 2018, ODSMEs have become part of an international consortium that aims to develop concrete policy proposals and tools to support second or third test entrepreneurs, distressed entrepreneurs or those who have gone through critical situations to prevent and address crisis situations so that they do not harm the company in the long term.

Small Business Lunch is the third such event organised as part of the project. The aim of these meetings is to provide a better understanding of the policies and instruments available for business restructuring at international and local level.
