A virtual platform for establishing business partnerships was launched
Moldova’s business environment will have a dedicated virtual platform — www.businesslink.mdthis will sum up all the centralised information about local companies active and qualified to provide services and products on both the domestic and external markets. Thus, information about suppliers will be structured in a public database with advanced functionalities of the search engine, which offers direct contacts or the possibility to place business partnership requests. The platform has been developed by Organisation for the Development of the Sector of Small and Medium Enterprises with the project’s support “Opinion of the Government of the Republic of Moldova in economic policies”implemented by GIZ Moldova with the financial support of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Swiss Development and Cooperation Agency (SDC).
The online platform presentation event was attended by representatives of international institutions, development partners, business support organisations, central government and the private sector.
At the opening of the event, Sergiu Gaibu, Minister of Economy welcomed the emergence of the new platform and stressed its necessity.
“It is a necessary platform because not all economic operators in the country are aware of the services that can be accessed on the territory of Moldova itself. China, but also other countries excel to this chapter, with platforms where companies and technologies can be easily identified. Now we will also have the opportunity to better promote ourselves abroad. So we will be able to connect with non-EU countries to develop a sustainable and more resilient network to the crises through which we are now going through the world, and we will further integrate into the new realities of international trade to make ourselves and heard”.
Ulrich Kinne, adviser to the Embassies of the Federal Republic of Germany in the Republic of Moldova stressed that BusinessLink would become an efficient and useful platform for Moldovan small and medium-sized enterprises on their way to internationalisation of business.
“The Government of Germany supports the efforts of Moldovan SMEs in joining national and international value chains. Today’s virtual platform will facilitate the establishment of new business partnerships and this will generate positive effects in the economy, new jobs will be created and migration reduced. The IMMO is a reliable partner of Germany and will institutionalise the creation of new connections, identifying the needs of domestic and international companies”.
Iulia Costin, Director General ODIMM thanked development partners for support, reiterating that by launching this platform, DSOs are strengthening their role in providing support to domestic SMEs in setting up national and international partnerships.
’ODIMM, as the main business support institution in the Republic of Moldova, provides the necessary support to SMEs in setting up both national and international business partnerships. Over time, forums, conferences, fairs and exhibitions, B2Bs have been organised through which entrepreneurs have been able to promote their products and services, but also to establish partnerships. At the current juncture, BusinessLink’s virtual platform is of real benefit to Moldovan companies for internationalisation of businesses and their connection to global trends in the economy”.
Thomas Foerch, Project Manager “Opinion of the Government of the Republic of Moldova in economic policies” within GIZ Moldova stressed that this platform would be an important source of information to promote the business in R.Moldova and establish new connections with partners abroad.
“BusinessLink will be an open stage for all companies through which they will promote their Business Card. GIZ Moldova together with ODIMM organised several business forums, B2B meetings between companies to foster partnerships”.
