ODIMM supports migrants or their first-degree relatives to set up businesses in the Republic of Moldova. Today, 66 companies out of 24 districts of the country were selected for grants by the Monitoring Committee of the Economic Discharge Programme (PARE 1 + 1). In this way, the winning companies will receive grants of up to RON 250 thousand everyone, creating over 200 jobs. During the current year they have been financed 121 businesses totalling approximately RON 30 million, which will encourage investments in the economy of approximately RON 77 million. “APPARENTLY 1 + 1” it is a 10-year programme implemented by ODIMM, financed by the state budget and supplemented by European Union funds.

Companies selected for funding will develop businesses in areas such as: the cultivation of cereals and vines, berries, flowers, herbs, the establishment of meadow cuttlefish plantations, walnut orchards, beekeeping, livestock and poultry farming.

We would also point out that: 22 business is active in the field of provision of services leisure and agri-tourism, vehicle repair, passenger and goods transport, body maintenance and beauty, and dentistry. 5 businesses are active in manufacturingactive in the production of cups, food and beer, bakery and pastry products, manufacture of wooden articles.

Of the total number of companies accepted for funding, 79 % operates in the countryside, and 21 % operates in mill. Chisinau. In the municipality of Chișinău, 14 companies are active. 5 in each of UTA Găgăuzia and Telenești, 4 in the districts of Orhei, Ialoveni and Ungheni, 3 undertakings are located in the districts of Cantemir, Hâncești, Nisporeni and 2 each in the districts of Taraclia, Cahul, Ocnița, Căușeni, Cimișlia and Călărași, and each company will develop its business in the districts — Dubăsari, Briceni, Ștefan Vodă, Dondușeni, Glodeni, Edineț, Leova, Florești and Soroca.

The 66 beneficiaries will invest remittances from their work in 19 states: Italy -16, The United Kingdom, and Russia 8 each, Germany and France 6, Romania-5, Ireland -3, USA, Israel and Austria 2 and one applicant each will invest the remittances obtained from their work in South Africa, Angola, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, the Netherlands and Sweden.

To date, to the Programme 3100 people registered and 2611 beneficiaries trained. Through the “PARE 1 + 1” programme, access to non-reimbursable funding has been facilitated for 1691 undertakings, in the amount of 348,68 RON million. The total amount of planned investment in the economy is around RON 1 041.88 millionthus, each leu granted in the form of a grant generates approximately RON 3 of investment in the economy.

The programme is subsidised from the state budget and supplemented by EU funds through the ‘Support for SMEs in rural areas’ project.
