Today, 29 April, ODIMM signed 66 grant contracts with the beneficiaries of the ‘PARE 1 + 1’ Programme, which concerns total investments of approximately RON 46 million, including RON 12 million – grant.

The funding applications were accepted by the members of the Monitoring Committee of the “PARE 1 + 1” Programme at the meeting of 23 April this year.

It is important to highlight that migrant workers are interested in investing in various branches of national economies. Areas of activity include agriculture (greenhouses, cold stores, livestock farms), industry (bakery, building materials, furniture, lighters), services, tourism, construction.

Analyses show that 40 % of remittances declared under the Programme come from migrant workers in Italy, 15 % from Russia, 7 % each from the USA, 7 % from Portugal and Spain, and 4 % from Ireland.

From a territorial point of view, remittance investments are mainly directed to rural municipalities, with only 13 % going to Chișinău and there was no application for funding from Bălți. Centre remains the most active area with 55 %, followed by North (18 %) and South (14 %).

The budget of the “PARE 1 + 1” Programme is RON 32 million, i.e. the amount of grants to be additionally contracted during 2013 is RON 20 million.

Please note that the next step for the submission of funding applications starts on 30 April this year. Registration to the Programme can be done online at electronics http://pare.odimm.md.
