In the opening remarks of the hybrid trainings, interim Director ODIMM Dumitru Pîntea welcomed the Moldovan-Romanian cross-border collaboration on the entrepreneurial dimension.
‘Ethe xperience of Romania is crucial in the perspective of the European integration of the Republic of Moldova, and this cross-border project strengthens the strategic partnership between the two shores of the Prut, including in the entrepreneurship education segment of the young generation. We also appreciate the collaboration we have had for many years with the Iași County Employers’ Office for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (PJIMMI) and I am sure that we will also find ourselves in other projects in the future. Thanks to European projects, we are gaining experience and good practice, which we will also take up in state entrepreneurial support programmes. ODIMM advocates and supports the formation of an entrepreneurial culture among the younger generation through various support mechanisms. We are currently managing a national programme dedicated exclusively to young people – “START for YOUR: a sustainable business at home”, through which 340 businesses opened by young people have been funded. I am the exponent of the young generation, I understand the needs and aspirations and aim to develop more entrepreneurial support initiatives to give young people the chance to start and grow businesses at home”.
Bogdan Suru implementation Monitoring Officer of the Regional Office for Cross-Border Cooperation reiterated that the project “Collaborative Entrepreneurship Education” was beneficial and necessary to support the entrepreneurial culture in the two countries.
‘Developing students’ entrepreneurial skills will help develop new businesses, reduce youth unemployment and minimise the migration effect. I encourage young people to have courage to go into business, not to be discouraged by fear of failure. Today’s young people have many abilities, only they need to be fully discovered and harnessed”.
Neculai Vițelaru, President of Iași County Employers’ Organisation for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises he emphasised the cultural and linguistic ties between the two banks of the Prut, assuring that they would continue in common ticketing projects.
“Young people, who participate in the Start-up Generation Programme, need to tell them that the golden rule in business is to be credible and honest with business partners. The vision of the business environment is based on 4 pillars: a) creating a business ecosystem fit for the challenges of the future; b) qualified and IT skilled human resources; c) support for entrepreneurial initiatives; (d) digitalisation of the private-public administration environment relationship’.
The project “Collaborative Entrepreneurial Education” is implemented by the Organisation for the Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in partnership with the Technical University of Moldova, the County Employers of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Iași and the Technical University “Gheorghe Asachi” with the financial support of the European Union through the Romania-Republic of Moldova Cross-border Programme. The project provides a clear picture of the need to introduce objects in the field of entrepreneurship at non-economic faculties into university curricula.
