On 9-10 June, under the ‘PARE 1 + 1’ programme for attracting remittances in the economy, ODIMM signed 28 grant contracts, under which investments for the creation and/or development of business in a total volume of approximately RON 19.58 million are planned. The amount of grants approved amounts to RON 5.57 million.


Compliant date of registration in the Programme, 57 % of beneficiaries (16 enterprises) were incentivised to set up businesses as a result of participating in the Programme.

It should be noted that 39 % of the enterprises concerned (11 enterprises) are created by migrant workers who have worked abroad, returned to the country and invest their own economies in setting up/developing their own businesses. The remaining 17 companies are created by first-degree relatives, based on remittances submitted.

By age bracketwe point out that 50 % of business managers are young people up to the age of 35. Out of the 28 companies, 12 entities (43 %) are created or managed by women.Signature of contracts

Analysis of geographical distribution indicates that it complies with legal address the majority of companies are registered in r. Telenești – 4 companies, r. Cimișlia – 3 companies, followed by the districts of Căușeni, Anenii Noi, Glodeni and Cantemir, mun. Chisinau and Mun. Boy – 2 companies each, in the districts of Călărași, Nisporeni, Orhei, Strășeni, Fălești, Basarabeasca, Taraclia, Cahul, Criuleni – 1 each. Taking into account the location of the businesses, their predominant share is located in the centre of the Republic with a share of around 54 %, followed by the South 29 % and North 18 % region.

Migrant workers planning to invest remittances in the implementation of the 28 investment projects have worked in 7 countries, both the EU and CIS, other countries. 54 % of the companies surveyed have their origin in Italy (15 entrepreneurs), with 21 % of economic operators financing their activities on the basis of remittances obtained in Russia (6 companies), Germany and Portugal each having 2 companies, Ireland, the United Kingdom and Denmark each having one company.

Agriculture it is the branch where it aims to invest 68 % of entrepreneurs, followed by services and manufacturing where 18 % and 14 % respectively are active.
The programme is carried out under the ‘1 + 1’ rule, which provides that each leu invested from remittances is replaced by a leu under ‘PARE 1 + 1’. The maximum amount of financing granted is RON 200 thousand. During 2011-2015, grant contracts were signed cumulatively with 581 beneficiaries, representing approximately RON 250 million of investments in the economy.
