The Women in Business Programme Supervisory Committee approved online the winners of the 6th Small Grants Competition. 221 female entrepreneurs from all regions of the country applied for the competition, of which 133 were selected for non-reimbursable funding. The total value of the grants will amount to RON 16.06 million, which will stimulate investments in the national economy of approximately RON 20 million.

Funding the 133 companies managed by women will boost the creation and maintenance of more than 300 jobs.

Circa 54 % among the investment projects approved today are the provision of services (graphics, illustration, animation and video production, vulcanisation services, green space fitting-out and maintenance services, car stylisation and restyling services, mental arithmetic course teaching, ultrasound services, printing and digital printing services, lifting and lowering lift services, etc.), other 33 % will be active in the manufacturing industry (manufacture of biodegradable bags, manufacture of fodder for birds and animals, manufacture of articles of artificial stone, manufacture of furniture without carcases, manufacture of teas, spices and cosmetics based on natural plants, manufacture of glass articles, manufacture of orthopaedic devices, prostheses for the upper and lower limbs, etc.), and 13 per cent they come from agriculture and animal husbandry (beekeeping, rearing of pigs, geese, rearing of quails, cows, growing of herbs, etc.).

So far, 472 investment projects have been funded through the Women in Business Programme. The amount of projects approved was RON 63.51 million, which generated RON 107 million in investment in the economy and facilitated the creation and maintenance of more than 1800 jobs. The maximum amount of non-reimbursable financing under this component is RON 165.000 per beneficiary, which may be used to purchase investment items and business development services.
