The objectives of the pilot programme are:
- Balanced and sustainable socio-economic development throughout the Republic of Moldova;
- economic development of regions by supporting small and medium-sized enterprises with a focus on innovation, technology transfer and sustainable development;
- attraction of investments and promotion of regions as development poles.
The Multifunctional Industrial Platform (MIP) is a delimited territory, public property of the administrative-territorial unit, equipped with the necessary infrastructure (electricity supply systems, waste collection and sorting systems, telecommunications networks, gas and water supply networks, sewerage networks, including rainwater, transport routes, public lighting), where economic activities are carried out, mainly in the industrial sector, in order to exploit the human and material potential of the region.
By Government Decision no. 748 of 13 October 2020, it was decided that the Pilot Programme for the creation of Multifunctional Industrial Platforms will be implemented by the Organization for the Development of the Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Sector, designated as the Implementation Unit.
The MIP Pilot Programme aims to increase competitiveness, productivity, employment in the industrial sector throughout the country, as MIPs represent certain locations fully equipped in terms of utilities, which will make them "centres of excellence" for industrial development.
As a resident of PIM can become any active company from the country or from abroad, with industrial specificity, which fits the legislation of the Republic of Moldova and intends to carry out its entrepreneurial activity within PIM.
